Goochland Earthquake

On Sunday 3/12/2017 around 10pm, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake struck Goochland County in the area of Oilville. The depth of this quake was 11.6km, a significantly deep quake. Forces from this event were felt throughout Goochland County and surrounding areas.

Centerville Vol. Fire & Rescue is proud to honor the life of our fallen Brother from Hanover Fire-EMS. Unfortunately Assistant Chief Henri Moore, of Hanover Fire and Rescue, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017, after a battle with cancer.

VIRGINIA 4PM BURN LAW 2/14 thru 4/30

Virginia's 4:00 p.m. Burning Law goes into effect on February 15.

Briefly, the 4:00 p.m. Burning Law states: from February 15 through April 30 of each year, no burning before 4:00 p.m. is permitted, if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass or other flammable material.
